What’s Big and Goes Up?
February 1, 2010 | Category: The Wandering Unicyclist
My big kite is in the mail. How big is big? I’m not talking about moderately big kites that are as wide as your arms’ length. I’m talking about giant mofos. The one I got is a trainer version so I can learn the basics of flying and hopefully fly around a bit. It’s really more of a baby power kite so as to speak (ie. meaning to make it sound cuter than it probably is) and has a span of 3 meters.
I insist this doesn’t qualify as an impulse purchase since I’ve actually been looking at ye kites periodically for a year or so now. Besides, oh my goodness look at the video! It looks more fun than merely jumping around waving your hands on a large grass field. Not that I do that but I’m just saying.
Will update on this once it arrives. It is very expensive so it had better be fun.

on February 5th, 2010Funny, I always imagined that Singapore being a coastal city would have plenty of wind… I live pretty inland from the ocean, and we get good enough winds for that kind of kite.
