This is such a strangely toy camera-ish photo I thought I should share it.
That’s my favorite shirt to do sports in. It also blends in well with my wall.

I’m proud to announce that I think I got my mom addicted to videogames.
All those times I was told as a kid that videogames are bad and addictive, heeheehee.

I dozed off at Japanese class today. Specifically, I dozed off in the middle of writing an assignment and my hand kept going on. The teacher went around trying to spot mistakes and stopped at mine. Being Japanese and polite, she tells me nicely that a certain phrase is wrong. That’s about when I regained consciousness and realised I wrote half a line of random characters.
She points out the erroneous phrase.
I had to reread the entire paragraph because I don’t know what I just wrote. It’s comedy at its finest.
It happened thrice in one hour.

And why is it that when I wake up, nothing is ever better?

Incredibly fun, that’s what it is. Leisure time for the last week or two has been spent mostly on kiting. The kite in question is a Rush III 300 which has a wingspan of 308cm – a trainer kite really. There are a few empty fields near work which makes for a great hour of kiting. The winds are not strong at all since I have yet to try flying it at the beach but it does drag you along if you carve it through the air the right way.
I think I might have gotten the hang of its controls but not so much the technique of increasing the dragging power. I’ve had some air time once which is very exhilarating and does make me want to get a larger kite to go crazy with.
Very addicted.

It’s time for the annual acquisition of cheap kicks. This year, we have…
… shin-high boots that are horribly inappropriate for Singapore weather and in a color that goes well with almost nothing BUT which cover all the scars on my shins and are, most importantly, kind of pretty.
And this is just to make you jealous, Nathan. Puma Popart Lo. They’re a size too big but should fit fine with socks and are ridiculously cheap. I’ve been waiting for a price drop since a year ago so this is kind of the sort of price I’d be willing to pay for it.
Heehee.

This is a photography experiment with Juggling Mike. We were talking about double exposure photography and the idea is to each take a set of 10 photos and trade half of them before merging them. We had a theme each – mine was summer (given the equatorial climate in Singapore) and his, winter (it’s -30 in Montreal).
My suggestion was to go for film but Mike’s right, digital is definitely the way to start because there’s so much you can learn before committing to sending film back and forth. (off-topic note: for some reason as I’m typing this I’m getting a sense of deja vu).
Here’s my set of 5. I’ll wait for Mike’s post before linking his.

There’re some pretty good ones that came out from this – Mike’s got a better set in my opinion. Very fun and I definitely want to do this with film.
*Edit* Here’s Mike’s set

Guess what I bought in New Zealand!
Now you know why Grumpy Bear’s grumpy.

One of the soon-to-be unicyclists brought his bike over last week. It’s got a three-speed geared hub. Very cool but I can’t seem to go straight. I also think I’m supposed to lean backwards more than I am in the pic.

My big kite is in the mail. How big is big? I’m not talking about moderately big kites that are as wide as your arms’ length. I’m talking about giant mofos. The one I got is a trainer version so I can learn the basics of flying and hopefully fly around a bit. It’s really more of a baby power kite so as to speak (ie. meaning to make it sound cuter than it probably is) and has a span of 3 meters.
I insist this doesn’t qualify as an impulse purchase since I’ve actually been looking at ye kites periodically for a year or so now. Besides, oh my goodness look at the video! It looks more fun than merely jumping around waving your hands on a large grass field. Not that I do that but I’m just saying.
Will update on this once it arrives. It is very expensive so it had better be fun.
