Sorry for the 2 month long wait.

While traveling to Ride the Lobster in Nova Scotia, Canada, my trip took me from Singapore to New York to Maine THEN to Nova Scotia before detouring to Montreal, New York and back to Singapore.

Part 1: Maine

Portland, Maine strikes me as a quiet little sea town, very different from what Stephen King makes the state out to be in his novels.Kee and I spent a day there before taking a ferry to Yarmouth in Nova Scotia. We were riding around town that day when some guy in his truck stopped and chatted with us. He told us he had learnt to ride when hewas younger and proceeded to mount AND ride off with our 29″ wheels fitted with 110s.

The streets of Portland was quite uneven. I was struggling a little at first with the new cranks, especially when it came to stopping at traffic junctions. We caught a stand-up comedy act in the evening - it wasn’t top class but I’m quite sure it’s better than anything you’d find in Singapore.

Breakfast on the ferry was quite expensive but the serving was pretty decent and we had Starbucks coffee.

Because most people (*ahem*) are blobby, there was a considerate reminder in the ferry just in case.
