Part 2: Montreal

I’d have loved to spend more time in Montreal - it’s got a chill vibe and is the sort of place I’d really love to spend a week walking around instead of 8 hours loitering about.

Luggage allowance was the biggest reason why I skipped on buying a cheap Wii while in Canada. Being quite brilliant and with all of $50 in my wallet, I couldn’t afford a cab and had to lug all of that to the bus terminal. Montreal’s great because for $5 (or $3), you could get yourself a locker at the station to store your baggage. I managed to squeeze my main luggage and the box in the Zone Image bag in there. I fixed up my uni at the train station and went around town with that and my haversack.
While there are bike paths all around town, I haven’t quite figured out how to cut into traffic because you can’t just place yourself in the middle of the path and mount your uni. Falling off is also quite hazardous. Here’s the poutine place whose name escapes me at the moment. I didn’t get to try poutine at all because…

Romados is nearer along the street and the servings are MASSIVE. This is possibly the cheapest meal I had in Canada and the chicken is amazing. It’s so greasy, each bite is a burst of salty goodness.

It’s a portuguese place so they’ve got those famous egg tarts and other pastries too.

And then there was Schwartz. In a little less than 2 hours, I had all these food and when I reached the poutine place, there was really no way I could eat any more. I didn’t think the sandwich was that fantastic but the meat was tender and the smoky flavor went well with mustard. All sandwiches taste better with mustard anyway.

There’re actually quite few photos of me because I was alone most of the trip except in Nova Scotia where all of us were too tired to take photos anyway. Here’s one at the airport.

Because people in Montreal don’t have sex, Sex in the City is translated as Sex in New York there.

WHAT TO DO NOW?
